How it works

Family Head creates a group
Go to Family Alert → Family tab → Enter your name → Tap "Create Family Group". An encrypted invite code + 6-digit security PIN is generated.

Share invite code + PIN separately
Share the invite code via WhatsApp. Tell the PIN verbally or in a separate message. Never send both together — the code is useless without the PIN.

Each family member opens Family Alert → Family tab → "Join Existing Family" → pastes the invite code and enters the 6-digit PIN.

Head confirms each member
After joining, members get a Confirmation Code. The Family Head pastes it in the "Confirm a Joined Member" section to add them officially.

Enable Push Notifications once when the banner appears — this lets alerts arrive even when the app is fully closed.

Never send the PIN with the invite code in the same WhatsApp message. Share the code in chat, tell the PIN by voice call or a separate message.

Adjust alert settings: Open Family Alert → ⚙️ Settings to change mode (None / Vibrate / Ring / Vibrate+Ring), volume, or repeat interval.

Use Hindi or Punjabi messages for elders in the family — pre-written messages are already available in all three languages.

Firebase must be configured by the app admin for alerts to be delivered. If you see "Firebase not configured", contact your app admin to set the Firebase URL in Admin Settings.
